Since 2012, A Caring Hand Foundation (ACH) has been dedicated to creating positive and memorable holidays for families in need by providing gifts, clothing, and essential items. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of families experience the true spirit of the season.
Our Adopt A Family Program shares gifts of joy and comfort with families facing hardship during the holidays. This year, you can make a meaningful difference through one or more of our giving options listed below.
When you choose to give, not only will a family in need be uplifted by your generosity, but you’ll also experience the heartwarming joy that comes from giving — and see firsthand the impact of being involved in your community.

How you can help:
Option 1: Adopt a family. Each donor is provided a list of necessities for the family. They will shop for the items on the list, write an encouraging message to the family, and deliver the items unwrapped to ACH Foundation. ACH Foundation will wrap and deliver the gifts with the written message from the donor to the family.
At A Caring Hand Foundation (ACH), we strive to ensure that every nominated family has the opportunity to be adopted during the Christmas season. While we do our very best, please note that we cannot guarantee that all families will be selected. Families chosen to receive gifts will be notified directly and invited to meet their sponsors in person to express their appreciation and collect their gifts at the ACH Headquarters. We are deeply grateful to all sponsors and supporters who help us bring joy, hope, and holiday cheer to families in need.
Option 2: Provide a monetary donation. Funds raised for the Adopt-A-Family Program are combined to provide for families who have not been adopted or for those having needs exceeding their donor’s giving potential. Any excess funds at the end of the program are used throughout the year to aid families when there is a need.

Option 3: Nominate a Family. To be eligible for the Holiday of Giving Adopt A Family Program, you must live in the Chicagoland area and South Suburbs. Families must be nominated. Families are not able to nominate themselves. We begin accepting nominations on October 6, 2025 and close November 20, 2025. Please apply early, as we accept nominations on a first-come, first-served basis.
Nominations are welcome, although selection is not guaranteed. Once we receive a nomination, we will forward it to our sponsors, who will choose the selected families. If chosen, ACH will contact the family’s representative, who will share the exciting news with the family. The selected family will be invited to meet their sponsor to thank them personally and collect their gifts from A Caring Hand Foundation’s headquarters.
